The SiC whiskers embedded in the micro structure give this ceramic excellent toughness for cutting high-temp alloys and cast materials with high Brinell hardness. Replaced by KYHS10 grade.Stainless Steel, High-Temp Alloys, Hardened MaterialsM30-40 S25-35 H40-45Al2O3 /SiCWCERAMIC – ALUMINA/TiCKY4300
A PVD TiN coating over an aluminum oxide and titanium carbonitride composite ceramic (Al2O3/TiCN). Used for finish turning of hardened steels and irons (>45 HRC). Where possible, use under dry conditions in smooth or varied depths of cut. Can also be applied in finish turning of nickel alloys, cobalt alloys, and powder metals.Hardened MaterialsH05-10TiNCERAMIC – ALUMINA/TiCKY4400
An advanced sialon ceramic grade. Provides maximum wear resistance. Use for high-speed continuous turning of gray cast iron, including through scale.Cast IronK5-15SiAlONCERAMIC – SILICON NITRIDEKYK10
Pure silicon nitride ceramic with an alumina CVD coating. Excellent combination of toughness and edge wear resistance. Used for general-purpose machining of gray, ductile, or nodular cast irons.Cast IronK10-20SiAlONCERAMIC – SILICON NITRIDEKYK25
SiAlON ceramic with a multi-layered alumina-TiCN CVD coating. Compliments the KYS30 grade when machining high-temp and nickel-based alloys and cast materials with high Brinell hardness. This advanced CVD coating provides excellent chemical and depth-of-cut notch resistance compared to whisker ceramics.High-Temp Alloys, Hardened MaterialsS15-25 H30-35Alumina-TiCNCERAMIC – ALUMINA/TiCKYS25
Latest and most advanced sialon material developed. Combines excellent wear properties, fracture toughness, and thermal shock resistance for general-purpose to finish machining of high-temp alloys. Provides superior depth-of-cut notch resistance compared to whisker ceramics.High-Temp AlloysS20-30SiAlONCERAMIC – SILICON NITRIDEKYS30
